This year’s theme of 'Lost & Found', will be taking place nationally from 17th – 25th November 2017, and will also mark the festival’s fourth year. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and the British Academy  the festival is a hive of activity within the community across the UK.

Swansea’s hub ‘Voices, Faces and Places’ will be engaging with the ‘Lost and Found’ theme by focusing on the aspect of uncovering, rediscovering and remembering.  With something for everyone, the hub feature creative and interactive activities such as public talks, creative workshops, performances and exhibitions. 

There will be a range of free events across the festival period, including:

• Rediscovering Egyptian amulets and guardian demons.
• Exploring the 100-year history of Swansea University and a recreation of Swansea University’s oldest building, Singleton Abbey!
• Attending a special screening of the critically-acclaimed Don’t Take Me Home and a Q&A with the film’s award-winning director and Swansea University history graduate, Jonny Owen.
• Readings from two of the most exciting and relevant poets in the UK; Simon Armitage, and Radio 4’s Poet in Residence, Daljit Nagra.
• Exhibition and book launch featuring Pieces of a Jigsaw, a unique collection of portraits from the Welsh arts scene taken by Bernard Mitchell.

All the events in the up-and-coming week are delivered by Swansea University’s Research Institute for Arts and Humanities (RIAH), in collaboration with a range of partners from the Swansea Bay area.
