The students who travelled to Leeds last month to the University Student Networks 2^nd Annual Societies Forum were awarded with the prestigious award of ‘Physics Society of the Year’ following a number of competitive presentations from Universities across the UK.

A delighted Swansea University Physics Society President, Adam Powell, said “The focus of our activities includes improving our members’ employability, encouraging strong engagement with our academic-partnered events, as well as maintaining a good social calendar, for example, the annual Physics Ball and trip to CERN.  All the delegates attending the forum were impressed by the engagement and support that Swansea’s PhySoc offers its members. This achievement would not have been possible without the continued support of the Physics Department and the enthusiasm of all of our members.”

Swansea University’s Physics Department Programme Director, Professor Peter Dunstan, said “This is a tremendous and worthy recognition of all the hard work and dedication of our Physics Society and the PhySoc committee.  They have supported and arranged many activities throughout the year, and all for the benefit of their fellow Physics students at Swansea, the Department is really proud of what they have achieved – well done!”
