The Whatuni Student Rankings are based on averages taken from thousands of reviews submitted by students and published on Whatuni.com.

The WhatUni rankings, which are now in their third year, offer prospective students an unbiased, student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems.

Over the last year, 25,000 reviews were collected; 125 universities met the minimum threshold to be considered for a Student Choice Award; and 39 universities have received a nomination.

‌Swansea University won the 2014 WhatUni University of the Year Award. 

It was shortlisted for University of the Year again in 2016, and in nine categories in total.

Professor Steve Wilks, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Swansea University, said:

“We are delighted to have won the WhatUni award for Best Courses and Lecturers.   Swansea did very well across the board: shortlisted in nine out of the possible ten categories, second in the UK for our international work, and third in the UK for our clubs and societies, and for University of the Year, which we won in 2014.
