Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) will bring Big Bang South Wales one of the UK’s leading STEM events,  which are part of a national programme of events and activities to get students excited about science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

It’s a brilliant opportunity for local schools to get their students really enthused by bringing these subjects to life through fun-filled shows, hands-on exhibits, interactive workshops and STEM projects entered by local pupils.

There will be over seventy EESW teams from across South Wales attending to present their EESW Sixth Form Project in 2015–2016 completed after months of hard work collaborating with local engineering companies such as Aerospace Wales, Arriva Trains Wales, R-TEK and Yard digital. Six teams are nominated to represent Wales at the National Big Bang Fair UK in March 2017.

The adrenaline-filled F1 in Schools Secondary South Wales regional final will also be held with over 20 teams competing this year. All competing for four places at the national finals later in the year.

There will also be presentations such as:

• The Bloodhound Super Sonic Car with Dr Ben Evans (pictured) which will feature a full scale model of the Bloodhound SSC which is currently being built in an attempt to break the current land speed record by reaching an incredible 1,000 miles per hour
• From the Cradle to the Grave - Science for Life by Science Made Simple
• Rock Guitar in 11 Dimensions with Dr Mark Lewney

Students can also visit the incredible AMRC MANTRA to experience engineering technology on the move.

There will also be a variety of exciting exhibitors from different sectors such as Airbus, CGI, Denford Ltd, GE Aviation Wales, IChemE, Materials Live- Swansea University, Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay, University of South Wales, University of Wales Trinity St David and Valero.
