Mary Williams Group Seminar 2015

Staff, students and visitors are invited to the Mary Williams Group Seminar to be held on 13 October at Swansea University.

The event will celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, and congratulate the winner of this year’s Mary Williams Award 2015, Dr Farah Bhatti, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, and Honorary Associate Professor at Swansea University; and Wendy Goodridge, Assistant Curator at Swansea University’s Information Services and Systems who received a Highly Commended accolade.

The event will also welcome Swansea University’s Professor Martina Minas-Nerpal, the UK’s only female Professor of Egyptology active in post.

The event will be held from 12.30pm – 2pm in the Wallace Lecture Theatre, Wallace Building, at Swansea University’s Singleton Park Campus. All are welcome to attend and lunch will be provided.

  • Ada Lovelace Day was founded by Suw Charman-Anderson and aims to raise the profile of women in science, technology, engineering and maths by encouraging people around the world to talk about the women whose work they admire. This international day of celebration helps people learn about the achievements of women in STEM, inspiring others and creating new role models for young and old alike.
