Elin Rhys, a former Biochemistry student at Swansea University, and the Managing Director of Telesgop, will officially open the GwyddonLe, and during the opening, Elin will explain how she has successfully managed to bring together her interests in science and media throughout her career.

Based in Swansea, Telesgop has expertise in producing science, ecology, rural affairs and contemporary documentary programming for customers such as the BBC, S4C, Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel.

The GwyddonLe will offer visitors the opportunity to learn Minecraft skills with The Big Learning Company and S4C, prove the body’s senses, watch tricks with liquid nitrogen, compete in various competitions, see a 3D printer at work, and much more!

Professor Iwan Davies, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University, said: “We’re very proud to be involved with the GwyddonLe again this year, and are grateful to Elin Rhys for leading its official opening.

“It’s a very exciting time for Swansea University, with just four months until the opening of our new Bay Campus with its focus on science and innovation. Swansea University promotes outreach to young people in order to inspire them about science.  The GwyddonLe is a great opportunity to communicate to all ages stimulating an interest in the sciences and will encourage youngsters to continue their studies at the University one day.

The GwyddonLe will be open daily from 10am until 4pm.
