As part of GEW, The Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IfEL) and Pro Vice Chancellor Hilary Lappin-Scott’s Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) are organising a weeks worth of events, from November 17-21, at various locations within the Singleton Campus.

Swansea University will launch GEW with a unique Scalextric Business Challenge (November 17, 9:30am, Café West Fulton House) where fantasy race teams will battle it out in a motor racing based competition. The week will also see the Sir Terry Matthews Challenge where students will be able to compete for a chance to travel to Canada to see how Wales’s first billionaire does business, as well as take part in a Q & A session with the Welsh-born entrepreneur himself (November 18, 3pm, Café West Fulton House).

Amongst the many highlights that week include:

• The Start Up Market (November 18, 1:30pm, Café West Fulton House) which gives students the chance to showcase their business ideas.
• The Big Ideas Wales Ideas Booth (November 19, 9am, Reception of Fulton House) where students can share business ideas and get advice on how to develop them.
• The £250 Challenge (November 20, 10am, Café West Fulton House) where students can apply for £250 to see if their business ideas will make a profit.

Closing the week is the Welsh Government Start Your Own Business Bootcamp event (November 21, 10am, Mandela Suite Union House), where students can fast track their business start ups by taking part in the mini bootcamp run by Business In Focus.
