Consultant Clinical Scientist Parvaiz Ali (pictured), Head of Nuclear Medicine at Singleton Hospital, has been involved with research and teaching programmes with the university for more than 20 years.

He has worked with departments including the College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Human and Health Science and College of Medicine.

Over the years he has been appointed honorary lecturer, honorary senior lecturer and honorary senior clinical lecturer, culminating in his appointment as honorary professor.

Professor Ali said:

“I regard this not just as an honour for myself but for Nuclear Medicine and the Medical Physics Department.

“In my opinion appointments like this help to reinforce the ‘University’ in ABM University Health Board and more staff should be encouraged to participate in activities in the university.

“Of course none of this could be achieved without the support of my managers over the years and the staff who work with me.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank them all for their support and encouragement.”
