The event, with the theme of Accelerating Business Growth, aims to make it easier for businesses to discover the benefits of working with the University’s major projects and to hear inspirational talks from some of the fastest growing and most innovative companies in the UK.

Delegates will have the opportunity to access information related to a range of University business services including R&D collaborations, student placements, new product development support, strategic IP advice, accountancy and export assistance as well as flexible leadership training for workplace learners.

The event is suitable for SMEs who want to find out more about the University’s specialist expertise and business support services, as well as academics and stakeholders looking for commercial leads.

The event features presentations, clinics, exhibitions and numerous opportunities to network, including breakfast.

This year’s keynote speakers include:

-       Darrell Mann, CEO of Systematic Innovations and recognised as one of the world’s most prolific inventors, who will be speaking about ‘21st Century Innovation and Strategic Intellectual Property Protection and  Management’,

-       Byron Dixon, Director of Micro-Fresh, one of the UK’s fastest growing global SMEs, who will be talking about ‘Growing Pains: The Challenges of Growth’.

What is the KEW Network? KEW is a business-academia forum run by the Department of Research and Innovation at Swansea University. Its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge as well as provide networking and collaborative opportunities.

KEW was inspired by a model in San Diego where a group of business leaders and academic champions realised that in order to compete globally they would have to collaborate locally.

KEW aims to provide research and development opportunities as well as to foster commercial and research partnerships between business and academia.

The Forum will also set the stage for a unique roundtable on ‘The Economy We Want’, a national conversation which will be launched virtually and then will take place physically a week later on Tuesday, December 2, led by Peter Davis, the Commissioner for Sustainable Futures.
