Swansea University’s College of Human and Health Sciences and College of Medicine will jointly host the three-day 17th International Reflective Practice Conference in September.

With presenters coming from as far as Australia, Japan and the USA, the conference has a truly international focus and includes keynotes from renowned reflective practice academics.

Date: Monday 9th until Wednesday 11th September 2013

Venue: Sketty Hall, Swansea

Themes: Reflective practice can be defined as ‘the process of learning through and from’, and conference themes include Education and Interprofessional Learning; Developing Leadership Through Reflective Practice; Expressions of Reflection; Professional Identity.

Speakers: Keynote speakers include Dr Janette Wetsel, Central University of Oklahoma, USA, and Professor Melanie Jasper, Professor Judy McKimm, and Professor Gary Rolfe, Swansea University, and international motivational speaker Rosie Swale Pope MBE.

Journal of Reflective Practice: The conference will also have a close association with the international, multi-disciplinary journal, Journal of Reflective Practice. After the conference, a special edition of the journal will be released to showcase the event; this will allow for keynote speakers and core papers to be published in a journal which is currently recognised in the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Selected abstracts and full papers will be published in a supplementary edition of the International Reflective Journal, due to be published 2013.
