The next in the series of Swansea University’s Theology public lectures will feature guest speaker Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach.
The Theology public lecture programme at Swansea University was first set up by the Reverend Nigel John, Senior Chaplain at the University and has featured internationally respected Church leaders and world renowned academics who have spoken on a whole range of different topics.

Summary: Lord Griffiths served with Margaret Thatcher’s government from 1985 to 1990 when he worked at No. 10 Downing Street as head of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit. As the Prime Minister’s special advisor, he was responsible for domestic policy-making and was a chief architect of the government’s privatisation and deregulation programs.
Lord Griffiths was a trustee of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lambeth Fund (1998-2012) and is chairman of Christian Responsibility in Public Affairs. He has published various books on monetary policy and Christian ethics and lectured extensively on economic issues and the relationship of the Christian faith to politics and business.
He has authored numerous academic publications in the field of monetary economics and has written books on Christian ethics in business.
Born in Fforestfach, Swansea in 1941, Lord Griffiths was educated at Dynevor Grammar School and the London School of Economics.
