The next in the series of Swansea University’s Theology Public Lectures will feature the author Jim Forest as guest speaker.

The Theology Public Lecture Programme at Swansea University was first set up by the Reverend Nigel John, Senior Chaplain at the University and has featured internationally respected Church leaders and world renowned academics who have spoken on a whole range of different topics.

Jim Forest is an author, lay orthodox theologian and peace activist.

His lecture about his friend Thomas Merton will provide a great opportunity to hear more about this Roman Catholic Cistercian monk who is considered to be one the greatest writers on spirituality of the 20th century. Forest wrote a biography of Merton who, in turn, dedicated his book Faith and Violence to Forest.
