The next Research Seminar of the Centre for the Comparative Study of the Americas (CECSAM) will look at the issues connected with the prolonged separation of Ecuadorian women migrants, who live and work in the Basque Country, from their children.

Event summary

Dr  Firth from the Centre for Migration Policy Research  at Swansea University will look at  the issues connected with the prolonged separation from their children of Ecuadorian women migrants, who live and work in the Basque Country. Dr Firth researches the field of literature and migration, and she is currently working on a book entitled Landscapes of exile, dislocation and loss.

Launched in early 2010 and based in the College of Arts and Humanities, CECSAM engages with people and organizations at Swansea University, Wales and beyond with research or teaching interests in any discipline dealing with the Americas. It organizes monthly research seminars open to academic and non-academic members of the community, as well as other cultural events.
