To celebrate a year since the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol was established, the Centre for the Study of Languages through Welsh at Swansea University will hold a second Welsh Medium Modern Languages Research Conference between 14-15 June 2012.

The aim of the conference, which will build upon a previous event held at Gregynog last year, will be to discuss inter-institutional networking as well as research and publishing possibilities.

The conference, sponsored by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol will also provide individuals from various organisations and establishments with an opportunity to get together to listen to the latest developments in research and strengthen the Welsh medium Modern Languages research community.

On Thursday 14 June, postgraduate students and experienced academics will present their research work and discuss future publishing and project possibilities.

On Friday 15 June, a series of workshops will be held based on various themes, including Welsh medium Modern Languages and the wider context, the challenges faced when working within Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol’s modern languages network as well as bridging schools and universities through Wales Video Link Network.

Dr Geraldine Lublin from Swansea University’s Centre for the Study of Languages through Welsh said: ‘‘We are thankful for this opportunity and grateful to Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol for their sponsorship. It will provide those who study or work in the field with an opportunity to get together and discuss new ways of sharing expertise in future.’’
