‌Lowri Morgan presented the students with cheques during the opening of a new teaching facility by the University’s Branch of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.‌

The scholarships were offered for the first time this year especially for those who wished to study modules through the medium of Welsh.‌

They were offered to encourage students to study Welsh medium modules which will enable them to make the most of their bilingual skills after graduating. The students were expected to explain their reasons for making the application and why they should receive the scholarship.

The successful applicants were Carwyn Price, Iwan Llewelyn, Lydia Morgan, Alys-Meleri Rosser, Calum Morgan, Rebecca Davies, Kirsty Bird, Heulwen Beasley, Laura Morgan and Catrin Jenkins.

Hannah Eleri Price Jones was also awarded with a bursary to assist with her Early Childhood Studies degree.
